Swim Class Descriptions

Guppies – recommended ages 6 months to 3 years. Guppies learn water awareness, basic swimming skills and swimmer safety. Parents are the key to fun and must participate in the water.

Goldfish – recommended ages 3 and 4 years. Goldfish learn water awareness, basic swimming skills; swimming on front and back, breath control, entering/exiting the water with and without support, and swimmer safety.

Level 1 – recommended ages 5 years and older or passed out of Goldfish. Level 1 covers water awareness, basic swimming skills; floating and swimming on front and back with and without support, breath control, entering/exiting water with and without support, and swimmer safety.

Level 2 – must be able to demonstrate all skills from Level 1. Level 2 covers floating and beginner strokes on front and back without support, orientation to deep water (jumping, kneeling dives), and swimmer safety.

Level 3 – must be able to demonstrate all skills from Level 2. Level 3 covers rhythmic breathing, complete front and back crawl strokes, introduction to elementary backstroke, deep water bobbing, introduction to compact dives, and swimmer safety.

Level 4 – must be able to demonstrate all skills from Level 3. Level 4 covers elementary backstroke, treading water, underwater swimming, and swimmer safety.

Level 5 – must be able to demonstrate all skills from Level 4. Swimmer covers breaststroke, sidestroke, treading water with different kicks, long-shallow dives, beginner progression from diving board and swimmer safety

Level 6 – must be able to demonstrate all skills from Level 5. Swimmers will swim 100 yds of front/back crawl, 25 yds. of breastroke and sidestroke, 10 yds of butterfly, turns, pike and tuck surface dives, dives from the board and swimmer safety.

• Non-member $55 per 1/2 hour

• Member $30 each per 1/2 hour
