Pool Rules at CCBA

Welcome to the Dwinell Pool at the CCBA!  Make your visit to our pool a safe and pleasant one.

Personal Pool Rules

Each swimmer must shower before entering the pool.

No food, drink or gum is allowed in the pool area.

Shoulder length hair should be tied back or a bathing cap must be used.

Spitting or drinking of the pool water is not permitted.

Remove all band-aids before entering the pool.

All swimmers must wear appropriate swimwear. Cut off shorts are not allowed.

No disposable diapers allowed. Swim diapers may be purchased at the front desk.

When entering the pool area to observe, all street shoes must be removed.

Safety Rules

All non-swimmers must be accompanied by an adult in the water.

Never dive into the shallow end or into a lap lane.

No hanging on or swimming over lane lines or lifelines.

Do not climb on or swim through the rail ramp.

No dunking, splashing, throwing, or hanging onto others even in a playful manner.

All swimmers must be able to swim successfully on their own without flotation devises and pass the deep end test before entering the deep end.

No catching children underneath the diving board.

Air-filled personal flotation devises are not permitted.

We strongly recommend use of lifejackets by children who are non-swimmers. United States Coast Guard-approved lifejackets are available on deck. The adult who accompanies the non-swimming child must stay within arms reach of the child and should only be in the shallow end. No one wearing a bubble or lifejacket is permitted in the deep end of the pool.

Approximately 10 minutes before a schedule change, we remove or add lap lanes in the pool.

The pool closes 15 minutes before the building.

In the event of lightening, the CCBA pool will close for 30 minutes. If the pool is closed for an extended period, you may be issued another day pass, but no refunds will be given.

Whirlpool Rules

The whirlpool is for those 18 years and older. Children must sit in chairs, not on the edge of the whirlpool.

Anyone taking medication or who is pregnant should consult a physician before using the whirlpool.

For safety purposes, bathers are limited to 10 minutes of submersion time in the whirlpool.

The whirlpool closes 15 minutes before the pool on Mondays and Thursdays.

Lap Lanes

Do not hang on or swim over lap lanes.

Never dive into a lap lane.

Enter the lap lane ONLY from the shallow end.

When more than two swimmers are in a lane, they must circle swim.
