Youth Scholarship Fund

For 100 years, in good times and bad, the CCBA has had a special commitment to helping children be active, learn sports skills, and have fun.  Memberships for young people and families are discounted. In addition, our outdoor park-which has basketball and tennis courts, play structures, a picnic-pavilion, and a playing-field-is open to the public at no charge.

The Youth Scholarship Fund makes it possible for youngsters to take swim lessons, play on the basketball team, enjoy summer camp, participate in fitness programs, or workout with weight training and cardiovascular exercise equipment (please see age requirements).

How do I apply?

A parent or guardian needs to fill out the Youth Scholarship Application and return the completed copy to Blendon Salls, Sports Director.

Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?

Youngsters ranging in age from preschoolers to teens are eligible for a youth scholarship.  Most of those receiving scholarships are school-aged.

For what can a scholarship be used?

Youth scholarship money may be applied towards the cost of any service – for example, a membership at the Witherell Recreation Center, summer camp, swim lessons, basketball or volleyball team participation – offered by the CCBA.

What is the maximum Award?

Scholarship assistance is limited to $250 per child during a calendar year.

Is there a Co-Pay Requirement?

Before scholarship funds are granted, the parent or guardian of the recipient must pay for 20% of the cost of the service for which a youngster receives assistance.
